Images from Enigma’s new photo gallery: The Sidewinder

Enigma Solicitors’ conference room currently features a contemporary fused glass triptych on loan from Ian Nicholls of Art 2 Frame, whose generosity is greatly appreciated.

The firm has been delighted with the triptych, which has provoked many a comment from clients and visitors over the last eighteen months.

In keeping with the colour scheme of the firm and thetriptych, Enigma are adding to the conference room eight additional photographs printed on aluminium plates taken by Peter Russell and by the partners.

The first of the eight features the music notation of Lee Morgan’s “The Sidewinder” and is pictured above.

Enigma partner Rory Smith’s explanation for this picture : “‘Should I Stay or Should I Go’ is not the best song the Clash ever wrote.

“(‘White Man in Hammersmith Palais’? ‘Straight To Hell’? ‘Remote Control’?)

“By the same token, ‘The Sidewinder’ is not the best thing Lee Morgan ever wrote but it nonetheless provided a significant boost to his popularity and bank balance and has a much wider appeal than a lot of his other recordings.

“During his career, Lee Morgan worked with some musical legends but he still maintained his own flair and originality up until his abrupt death, shot by his girlfriend, whilst performing.

“I will continue my efforts to convert the rest of the office to his music.”
