The Herald: “Law firm Enigma toasts first birthday”

Today’s edition of The Herald features an article on Engima Solicitorsfirst anniversary.

The article states Enigma was “set up by experienced solicitors Rory Smith and Neil Mercer to specialise in civil and commercial litigation” and adds the firm took delivery of specially-labelled bottles of champagne to commemorate its first year in business.

Enigma Solicitors celebrates its first anniversary

A year ago today, Enigma Solicitors was established by experienced local solicitors Rory Smith and Neil Mercer, who specialise in civil and commercial litigation.

Some observers had  doubted that a specialist law firm, which departed from the traditional ‘high street’ business model, would be successful but one year later Enigma is proud to report that it has gone from strength to strength.

Rory Smith offered his views on Enigma’s keys to success:  “Most solicitors pride themselves on providing their clients with a ‘fast, friendly and efficient service’ or something similar. Clients want proof. We demonstrate an experienced and enthusiastic commitment to our clients’ interests ; this is reflected, for example, by the fact that we have not received any client complaints at all during our first year of operation.”

Rory went on to describe Enigma’s strategy: “There is much said nowadays about marketing strategies and modern business methods.  Being a modern law firm should mean more than having a website, a blog and a mobile phone. Being modern to Enigma means we provide value for money ; we have listened and responded to clients who are fed up paying £20 for every phone call, no matter how brief. Being modern means that if I want to work round the clock at the weekend to help you, you won’t get an unpleasant surprise when the bill arrives. Being modern means that you don’t need to have read the same textbooks as me to understand my advice.”

Neil Mercer commented on the support that Enigma has received since its inception : “we made the decision at the outset that we did not want to advertise in the traditional ways or pay people to refer clients to us. Most of the firm’s work comes from personal recommendations by people who already have first-hand experience of Enigma.  Enigma’s workload has increased so much that our main problem now is expansion and the recruitment of the right staff. ”

Neil expressed Enigma’s thanks to all who have supported the firm: “Our clients are fantastic and whilst we have been told that we have ruffled a few feathers in the last year, Enigma has also developed some excellent relationships within Plymouth’s business network. Rory and I would like to thank them everyone for their support over the last year.”

Enigma specialise in civil litigation, commercial litigation, solicitors negligence claims, construction disputes and employment law and can be found at Farrer Court, 77 North Hill, Plymouth (tel 01752 600567).
